Meet Dr. Todd Reuter

Todd J. Reuter, DMD, MD

Dr. Todd J. Reuter is a native of Sarasota, FL and graduated from Sarasota High School.   He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology from the University of Florida in 2000.  Dr. Reuter then continued at UF to obtain both Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) degrees.  He is currently licensed to practice both medicine and dentistry in the state of Florida.

Dr. Reuter completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, General Surgery, and Anesthesia training at University of Florida Shands Jacksonville.  Having a passion for research and education, he received numerous awards for service, education, and research at academic centers and at scientific meetings.  He authored research in facial trauma, pathology, and reconstruction and is a contributing author for an oral surgery textbook.  

Dr. Reuter has held many leadership positions at all levels both locally and nationally.   He served in executive and committee positions for the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.   Dr. Reuter was Chief of Oral Surgery at Sarasota Memorial Hospital for almost a decade and was proud to serve as President of the Sarasota County Dental Association after years of service to the organization.

Dr. Reuter was honored to return to his hometown to practice Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, joining and then succeeding Dr. David Thompson in 2010.  Dr. Reuter is supported by his wife Elena and three children.  He enjoys spending his time with family and friends enjoying many hobbies including scuba diving, tennis, aviation, and most importantly, cheering on his children in local sports.   Dr. Reuter and his wife are proud members of the Sarasota community and support many local schools and charities.
